Prop 10 and T. Boone Pickens Raid on California Coffers
Submitted by cyc4fave on Mon, 2008-10-06 18:33.I was wondering if everyone was aware of California’s Prop 10 - a deceptively named initiative on the November ballot that seeks to authorize “$5 billion in bonds ($9.8 billion with interest), much of which would provide rebates to buyers of natural gas run vehicles. First off, environmental groups including the California League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club oppose Prop 10.
And for the purposes of full disclosure, I work for a non-profit consumer rights organization called the Consumer Federation of California. We started doing some research on Prop 10 and couldn’t believe what we found.

I would think that this proposed port at Jacksonville, FLA below would use the Panama Canal, when the expansion is completed in 2014. The rest of the country is trying to get in on the action, cargo container shipments from Asia.

Subj: Message from Rep Jerry Lewis
May 27, 2008
Mr. Robert E. Fisher
7717 Church Avenue
Highland, CA 92346
Dear Mr. Fisher:
Thank you for contacting me. It is good to hear from you and I am pleased to respond.
Ports handle more than 35% (by value) of the Nation's imports and exports, and the role of water transport in the national economy is growing as trade policies increase the quantity of goods transported. A recent assessment of the U.S. marine transportation system by the Department of Transportation predicts that the total tonnage of U.S. domestic and international marine trade will more than double by 2020. Ocean carriers are deploying larger ships to handle the robust growth in maritime trade.
PLAN TO SAVE CALIF PORTS
Submitted by bigfish2003 on Wed, 2008-05-21 19:23.In 2014 the Panama Canal Expansion Project will be completed: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/020108dnbuscanal....
In order to prevent the Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach from losing its $300 billion Asian cargo container vessels business that require deep water ports, it will be necessary for the California Congressional Delegation to remain vigilent and to "closely monitor" the FY 2009 Federal Transportation Budget and vote against any and all federal funding to dredge Gulf Coast ports, such as, the Port of Houston and the Port of Tampa for deep water purposes.
Currently, there are no deep water ports on the Gulf Coast. However, in the "NAFTA scheme of things," there will be attempts to upgrade the Gulf Coast ports similar to the I-69 funding in the states oh Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana.
BIGFISH'S 2ND "EPISTLE" TO SENATOR FEINSTEIN
Submitted by bigfish2003 on Wed, 2008-04-30 09:55.BELOW I TRY TO CLARIFY SENATOR FEINSTEIN'S MISUNDERSTANDING OF THE I-69 ISSUE:
cc of my 4/28/2008 letter to Senator Feinstein:
Below is a copy of an email dated March 6, 2008, in which my Congressman, Jerry Lewis (R-CA 41st) contradicts your latest letter dated April 22, 2008. As you know, Rep Lewis is the Ranking Member on the House Appropriations Comte. He claims that federal funds have been allocated to the states of Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana Kentucky, and Indianna for construction of I-69 in those states on a state by state basis.
Therefore, based on Rep Lewis I -69 has been allocated funds by Congress on a "piece meal basis" rather than as a whole continuous Interstate project. I suppose it is a matter of semantics. The upshot is that we have a NAFTA Highway running west to east, then north into Canada, rather than the proposed original NAFTA HIghway that runs south to north from Mexico City through Texas and up to Canada.
PRESS RELEASE FUTURE SHOCK CALIF PORTS
Submitted by bigfish2003 on Mon, 2008-04-28 18:48.FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FUTURE SHOCK: CALIFORNIA PORTS IN PERIL--
WHY ARE RECISSIONS NEEDED ON I-69 PROJECTS IN THE FY 2008 FEDERAL HIGHWAYS TRANSPORTATION BUDGET IN TEXAS, ARKANSAS, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, KENTUCKY AND INDIANA?
California elected officials should support the above recissions to the I-69 projects in the various states, because completion of these projects in future years would take away $billions of business from California, and give it to possibly the PORT OF HOUSTON, or some other port in the "NAFTA Scheme of things."
Recissions are needed to avoid Asian cargo container vessels from by-passing Los Angeles and Long Beach Ports by going through the Panama Canal to berth at the Port of Houston in future years, once the Panama Canal is widened to accomodate cargo container vessels.

RED ALERT RE: APPROVED NAFTA CORRIDORS
Submitted by bigfish2003 on Sat, 2008-04-19 16:16.April 19, 2008
My Congressman Jerry Lewis R-CA ,41st District and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee does not seem to realize that by providing funds to be matched by the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas, amounts to the "NAFTA Super Highway."
He denies that the federal government is funding the "NAFTA Super Highway" from Mexico City to Canada. However, by funding links of I-69 in each of the above states, Congress has provided funding for the "NAFTA Super Highway" and more, NAFTA Corridors. This appears to be innocent looking except, should one look at what happens, when the expansion of the Panama Canal, now under construction, is put into the equation, the Port of Houston is the beneficiary not Los Angeles/Long Beach or other West Coast Ports, such as, Oakland, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle.

I figured since we have a president who talks to God I could write something crazy BUT TRUE TOO.
The words I am about to share with the whole world right now are 99% true.
I should have known when I recalled arriving to my mother's womb, who is named Mary-I never meet anyone who can honestly say that and my last name means carpenter in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic.........
Ah, those were the days, my mom's womb, a nice safe place to chill and do nothing. Plus I had three radical miricles that should have taken my life and others but my DAD stuck his invisible hand in the way so I guess that makes me a Saint too. See God my father never talked to me with sound so George Bush is full of s@#t when he says he talks to my Dad, my Dad can't stand him.
I am sad, where is the Love I taught you, why did you let the devil rule you with his evil?

INVESTMENTS IN FOREIGN COMPANIES THROUGH THE YUCAIPA GLOBAL FUND, A LOS ANGELES BASED INVESTMENT FIRM, WOULD REVEAL THE POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST REGARDING COMPANIES THAT WOULD BENEFIT FROM PROPOSED NAFTA TRANSPORTATION CORRIDORS IN THE UNITED STATES.
ALSO, THE NAFTA PROJECT TO EXPAND THE PANAMA CANAL TO LINK THIS PASSAGE WAY TO THE PORT OF HOUSTON AT THE EXPENSE THE PORTS OF LOS ANGELES AND LONG BEACH WOULD BE DISCLOSED.
HILLARY CLINTON IS A MEGA FRAUD OF THE HIGHEST ORDER, WHEN SHE TRIES TO DENY HER INVOLVEMENT WITH NAFTA.

George Vreeland Hill Exposes The Republican Party.
Submitted by George Vreeland Hill on Fri, 2007-12-28 05:18.The Republican Party is a sick joke, and the people of this country are fed up with them.
From Nixon to Bush, and from Scooter to Larry "Toilet Stall" Craig, the Republicans have proven themselves to be a bunch of lying, corrupt, evil, perverted, over-spending crooks.
When you look at all the money Bill Clinton left this country, it makes us all cry to know that Bush spent it all.
Wow!
When the money was gone, Bush went to China for help.

Tell every candidate for office, every politician, every political party, every corporate enabler of the war and of the Executive over-reach that attacks our Constitution and the Rule of Law – that we will no longer support them with our purse!
direct democracy
Submitted by boonvillehigh on Wed, 2007-10-03 01:22.We need to take control of our country. The only way that we can end the military industrial complex is impose a system of direct democracy on the state. We obviously cannot rely on our representatives or our polling system. I have developed a way to bypass the representatives. It starts with developing a website that will make writing and endorsing state initiatives easy. This will give the people more immediate control over California, as well as any other state that has the initiative process. Once we have California under our direction. We can use the power of our economy to influence national politics. We can use this influence to stop the Fascist Warmongers, and possibly install a federal initiative system. It is a lot of work but this is the only plan I have heard to date that will solve our base problem. The only people that we can trust to act in our interest is ourselves. I am looking for volunteers to help build the website. I am also starting a non-profit organization with the goal of spreading direct democracy over the internet, and I could use some advice from someone with some experience. POVERTY IN USA
Submitted by glorybe on Thu, 2007-09-27 19:21.In the past we have been sold a bill of goods with terms such as "War on Poverty". Yet we can all see that we allow numerous poverty stricken people to invade the USA through our border with Mexico. Yet we have a vice grip like grip on stopping the poor who flee to our shores from Haiti. Race is one issue. It seems we prefer brown to black in America.
But beyond that is just why we allow anyone at all to immigrate. The answer is nut and bolt simple. Millions of jobs are misery. Millions of Americans are wage slaves who suffer poverty level pay checks as well as little or no hope of ever getting ahead. The awful truth is that we need poverty to force people into doing these wretched jobs. If everyone had plenty of money and buying power our system would collapse.
